This page displays the current club ladder, and allows you to enter the results of ladder chanllenge matches (if allowed - you may need to login first).
The ladder works by moving the winner of any challenge match into the position of the higher player (of the two players in the challenge), with the intervening players being moved down one position.
So if the higher positioned player winns, there will be no change in the positions of any players in the ladder. But if the lower positioned player wins, for example P5 beats P2, then P5 will become P2, P2 will become P3, P3 will become P4, and P4 will become P5.
The ladder also keeps a record of a players last position. In this system, the 'last position' is defined as being your position in the ladder at the time of the last match you played. This means that if players below you are beating players above you and are leapfrogging you, your position will be going down, but your 'last' position will not change - because you have not played a match.
Note :- when players are first entered into the ladder, no one will have played any matches. The first player to win a ladder challenge will only move as described above, they will not go to the top of the ladder automatically, just because they are the only player to have won a game. To see this kind of behaviour, you should look at the 'Rankings' page. One way to avoid having players that have not played a match higher up the ladder than players that have played matches, would be to impose the rule - you have to play a challenge match to get into the ladder. But this would mean that these first challenge matches would have to be entered through the Easy Leagues administrator for your club.
The options you can set (just above the ladder table) allow you to change the period over which the results are taken to create the stats columns ('Matches Played [challenges]' and 'Total Won : Lost : Drawn'), and to highlight the rows of those players that have been active (ie. played a match, any match, not just a ladder challenge) within a certain number of days - these are just for your own feedback and do not effect the operation of the ladder or anyones position in it.
